Multiple charges for numerous people after shooting on Hamilton Street

According to the City of Gonzales Police Department, at 3:52 a.m. on Monday morning, May 11, City of Gonzales Patrol Officers were dispatched to 722 Hamilton Street within the city limits in reference to shots being fired in a home invasion.

Upon arriving on scene, a suspect who had been shot multiple times by the home owner and resident of the home was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for his injuries to be treated. This included surgery on Monday afternoon. The suspect is expected to make a full recovery.

Multiple charges have been placed on numerous people within the home and also the suspect accused of the home invasion.

As this investigation by City of Gonzales Police Detectives is currently underway, no names are being released at this time. We will have a follow up when the investigation is complete.
