Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Boat Patrol, along with Gonzales Divers, recovers body

Lt. Col. Bobby Webre reports that at approximately 7:30 p.m. Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Boat Patrol, along with Gonzales Divers, recovered the body of Malcolm Calloway, 17, who drowned while swimming with friends in Parks of Dutchtown Subdivision in Geismar at the intersection of Canterbury Park Drive and Audubon Park.

His body surfaced close to where Calloway and his friends first dived into the pond, said Lt. Col. Webre.

Lt. Col. Webre thanked all agencies who helped with rescue efforts and with neighbors who assisted in helping family members who arrived on scene.
