Demby recognized by city, parish and state

The Emmanuel Baptist Church, the City of Donaldsonville, Parish of Ascension and the State of Louisiana honored LaBelle Demby, owner of Demby and Sons Funeral Home in Donaldsonville, on Sunday, May 3 for excellence as a business leader.
The Delta Sigma Theta Inc. Sorority first recognized Demby a few weeks ago in Baton Rouge, and the attention has reached further.
Demby has been the owner of Demby and Sons Funeral Home with her late-husband since 1958.
Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church and Donaldsonville City Council Charles Brown, Sr. presented Demby with a key to the city as well as a gift from the church.
Also, Wanda August read a proclamation from the City of Gonzales on behalf of Councilman Kenny Matassa and a proclamation from Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez stating Sunday, May 3 2015 is LaBelle Demby Day.
But that wasn’t all. Louisiana State Representative for District 58 Ed Price presented a resolution to Demby that commended and congratulated her on being a “Woman of Excellence in Business Award.”
