APSO is searching for a 19-year-old man wanted for armed robbery, aggravated assault, and armed robbery with a firearm.

According to Sheriff Jeff Wiley, a victim posted an ad on several social media sites to sell a AR-15 assault rifle.

On Wednesday, April 29, the victim agreed to meet with the potential buyer, identified as Tyewayne Morris. The two went to a secluded area after Morris requested to test fire the weapon. After firing one round, Morris turned the assault rifle on the victim and robbed him of his wallet.

The victim was allowed to leave after Morris threatened to do harm to the victim if he reported the robbery to authorities.

During the investigation detectives obtained an arrest warrant on Morris and also executed a search warrant at 11451 Highway 931, St. Amant where Morris resides. The assault rifle was recovered during the search and Morris was not present.

He is considered armed and dangerous, said Sheriff Wiley.

Morris has a criminal history with charges stemming from simple battery, theft, and illegal possession of stolen things. Morris is a black male, 5’10” and approximately 145 pounds.
