Sex Offender arrested for failure to register
Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley reports the arrest of Wade Pardue, 36, who is classified as a Tier I Sex Offender who failed to register in Ascension Parish since being released from jail in February 2015.
The APSO Sex Offender Division received a tip advising the whereabouts of Pardue. Deputies located Pardue standing in front of a residence on Smith Road in Trailerland Subdivision shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 27. When Pardue saw deputies he began to take off on foot and took deputies on a short foot pursuit, but deputies apprehended Pardue a short while later.
Pardue reported to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Division on February 23, 2015 to initiate the proper registration required of a sex offender. Pardue advised detectives of his address and was given 30 days to pay all necessary sex offender registration fees where he failed to return to pay the necessary fees.
Pardue was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in August 1999 and was placed on probation until April 22, 2004. He was also convicted of failure to register twice; once in January 2011 and again in May of 2011 and was released from prison in February 2015, added Sheriff Wiley.
Wade Pardue, 36, of 1612 N. Coontrap Road, Gonzales was arrested and charged with failure to register and notify as a sex offender and resisting an officer on Monday, April 27.
He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and his bond was set by Judge Verdigets in the amount of $100,294.50
