APSO searching for two suspects after home invasion

Early Sunday morning, around 2:30 a.m., two males kicked in the front door of an occupied residence, located on Chick Duplessis Road in Gonzales, where the homeowner was struck by a bullet, according to Lt. Col. Bobby Webre.

The homeowners were awakened by a noise and the male homeowner went to see what was going on.  The homeowner was met by the two suspects in the hallway of the residence and one suspect pulled out a gun and shot the homeowner.

He was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition, added Lt. Col. Webre.

One suspect was described as tall, wearing dark clothing and a skull cap.
