Volunteer Ascension is an organization dedicated to the recruitment and training of volunteers to provide a network of assistance to the less fortunate throughout the Ascension Parish community. In order to continue its mission of service and assistance it must be assisted as well. On March 26, Volunteer Ascension will hosts its annual “Evening of Hope,” an annual fundraiser to help fund its programs that include school tools, uniform drive, and Connect Teens.

The event will be at Parc 73 reception center located at 14379 Highway 73 in Prairieville.

Volunteer Ascension Executive Director Sherry Denig said it’s really a cool event and fun way to raise money.

“We do it for a great cause and we do it for people to learn about us as well,” Denig said.

The event will offer both silent and live auctions, a balloon pop and many other fun games that will make donors eligible for gifts that range from cruise getaways to a $2,500 shopping spree at Layne’s Jewelry and Design.

Dutchtown High School Jazz Ensemble will also be performing, and there will be free wine to help participants have a good time.

“We like to involve the local schools when we can and it gives us a chance to showcase them,” Denig said.

The sponsors for the event include: Atmos, BASF, Grainger, Fab-Con and Layne’s Jewelry and Design.
