Ascension Branch NAACP announces new officers

The Ascension Parish Branch of the National Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) newly elected officers introduced themselves Monday night at the Ascension Parish Voter’s League (APVL) meeting at the St. Paul Baptist Church in Gonzales. Tyler Turner will serve as the President, while Ty Fowler will serve as the Vice-President and Mary Riley will be the secretary.

Turner told the APVL the goals and plans for the NAACP that meets monthly. The elected officers are pushing for a strong membership increase and encourage anyone who is interested to please contact one of them to learn more, get involved and make an impact.
