Express Outlet employees arrested for felony and misdemeanor theft

Gonzales Police Department were dispatched to The Express Outlet, 2410 S. Tanger Blvd. Ste. 159, located at Tanger Mall, on a call involving employee theft on March 11.

The Loss Prevention Manager made contact with the City of Gonzales Police Department and notified them that he was investigating multiple people for employee theft. One of the employees was identified as Sandrika Mitchell, 25, of 446 N. Pine St., Gramercy. 

Upon Mitchell’s return to The Express Outlet, officers observed her walking into the store with a bag of merchandise.  She advised she had been stealing from The Express Outlet since November 2014.  The total amount in stolen items was valued at $1,079.15.  She was immediately placed under arrest for felony theft and taken to the Ascension Parish Jail in Donaldsonville.

A second female was also arrested, Jaleesa Green, 27, of 8163 Jones Dr., St. James.  She also claimed she had been stealing since November 2014.  The amount of stolen merchandise totaled $597.85. Green was charged with misdemeanor theft of goods and bonded out at the Gonzales Police Department by paying $304.80.
