Post Office Road at La. 73 to close for roadway construction

PRAIRIEVILLE – Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez announced today Post Office Road will close at its intersection with La. 73 on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 8 a.m. and reopen at 5 p.m. due to roadway construction.

Through traffic on La. 73 will not be impeded.

Aaron Elisar, project engineer with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, said the construction is slated for Friday, weather permitting. Should the weather prevent construction on Friday, Elisar said it would commence on Saturday, March 14 during the same time period.

Elisar said crews will remove and replace the existing roadway surface and base course of La. 73 in order to tie in to the grade of Post Office Road.

Access to Post Office Road will be available from U.S. Highway 61 (Airline Highway).
