Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Phi Sigma Omega Chapter) collaborated with Bright Futures CLC in the annual Princess Dress Project (Prom Dress Give Away) on Saturday, Feb. 21.

Phi Sigma Omega Chapter President, Chandra R. Darville said this is the chapter’s signature project.

“We have been hosting the event annually for the past six years,” Darville said.

Seven young ladies from the Donaldsonville area came out to the event. They each left with a dress of her choice.

“We were expecting more young ladies. However, I was glad that each girl who showed up, left with a dress,” Darville said. “If one young lady came, and we were able to give her a dress, then we would have been happy with that. We just want to give the young ladies an opportunity to attend their prom without any financial hardship.”
