Bridget Hanna announces candidacy for Ascension Parish Clerk of Court

Bridget Hanna, long-time Chief Deputy Clerk of Court with 31 years of distinguished service and experience in the Ascension Parish Clerk’s Office, is seeking to serve as the next elected Clerk of Court for Ascension Parish.
“I am a lifelong resident of Ascension Parish and am very passionate about giving back to my community,” said Hanna, who was recently sworn in as Clerk of Court after Kermit “Hart” Bourque’s health-related retirement from the office he has held for the past 51 years.
“Bridget’s work as Chief Deputy has been outstanding. Her experience in the Clerk’s office is unmatched and she has the expertise to lead this office going forward. I retired confident knowing the Clerk’s Office will be in excellent hands under her leadership,” said Bourque.
Bridget has been at the forefront in creating best practices and implementing initiatives that have made the Clerk’s Office more efficient, cost-effective, and responsive to the needs of the residents of Ascension Parish. She continues to be directly involved in efforts to ensure ease of voting and increasing public access to election information as well as directing day-to-day operations of the Clerk’s three locations and managing the office’s 46 employees.
“I am equally passionate about maintaining the quality of customer service that has been instilled in me by my predecessor and mentor. I intend to build upon the foundation laid out by Mr. Bourque and to guarantee that our citizens continue to receive quality service from our office.”
Bridget is a Certified Clerk of Court and currently serves as President of the Ascension Parish Board of Election Supervisors, President of the East Ascension Rotary Club, Secretary and Chair-Elect of the Ascension Chamber of Commerce, Vice-President of the Leadership Ascension Foundation Board, and Chair of the Leadership Ascension Committee. “I want to serve you, the citizens of Ascension Parish, as your Clerk of Court. I am asking for your support and for your vote,” said Hanna.
Bridget is married to Kevin Hanna, a Major with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, and they are the parents of four children, Bryce, Jordan, Brock, and Heather. They are members of Holy Rosary Catholic
