Shoplifter arrested on felony drug, contributing to delinquency of juvenile charges

The Gonzales Police Department officers were dispatched to Walmart located at 308 N. Airline Hwy, Gonzales, on what they believed to be a routine shoplifting case on Feb. 14 at 3:23 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with 27-year-old Jonathan Brock Ledford, of 26350 Black Lake Club, Maurepas. During the course of the criminal investigation it was learned that Ledford concealed approximately $58.00 worth of merchandise on himself and his two year-old daughter before leaving the store without paying for the merchandise.
After taking Ledford into custody for the theft, officers discovered that Ledford was also in possession of approximately 65 grams of marijuana, and that he was wanted by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office in reference to outstanding warrants.
Ledford was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on the charges of felony possession of marijuana, felony contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, theft of goods/shoplifting and fugitive other Louisiana jurisdiction.
