Humberto Fontova to address Ascension GOP Roundtable

Humberto Fontova, author, columnist and sportsman will be the keynote speaker for the  Ascension GOP Roundtable sponsored by Ascension Republican Women.  The Roundtable will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 11:30 a.m. at Kamal’s Kafe, 13091 Airline Hwy. in Gonzales.  (11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Meet and Greet; Noon – Meeting)

Fontova was born in Cuba and, together with his family, immigrated to the United States in 1961 in order to escape the Castro Regime.  He grew up in New Orleans and graduated from the University of New Orleans and received his Masters Degree from Tulane University.  An avid sportsman, he penned his first book, The Helldivers' Rodeo, in 2001. Fontova’s 3rd book, published in 2005, was Fidel: Hollywood's Favorite Tyrant, a political and emotional expose' about Fidel Castro and the only totalitarian dictatorship in the Western Hemisphere. He has continued with the political genre to the present date with his most recent book, The Longest Romance.  Fontova has been a guest on numerous national television and radio shows, such as Hannity, The O’Reilly Factor, Glenn Beck, Fox and Friends and the Dennis Miller Show.

On Friday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. Humberto Fontova will be featured by John Stossel on FOX Business in a segment about Cuba.

ARW’s current theme for the St. Theresa Food Bank, is “Red Beans and Rice” featuring Louisiana products. Members and guests are asked to bring either dried or canned red or white beans and packages of rice to this and any ARW event.
