As the Christmas season grew near teens involved with the Ascension 4-H Jr. Leader Club wanted to give more, rather than receive.  As voted on by the club membership, Jr. Leaders chose to adopt less fortunate families in the community to help their Christmas become a little brighter.  After contacting the needy families, the 4-H Junior Leader Club of Ascension Parish visited a local Walmart in Gonzales on Thursday, December 4, 2014, to purchase items to give to the families for Christmas. Through these actions the Junior Leader Club hopes to give aid to less fortunate parts of the community.  The club completes one ongoing service project per year in an attempt assist the needy.  This year the club is focusing on the disabled. They will be doing many acts of service throughout the 2014-2015 school year in order to support those inside that need community.
