Allen Williams, III arrested, charged in Wednesday shooting in Donaldsonville

Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Tony Bacala reports the arrest of a Donaldsonville man for attempted second-degree murder.

At around 4:30 p.m. deputies received a call from a local hospital stating that a 16-year-old male was being treated in the emergency room for a gunshot wound to the face.

Deputies arrived at the hospital and learned that the incident occurred on St. Patrick Street in Donaldsonville where a group of males had an argument regarding some stolen property.

As the argument ensued, 18-year-old Allen Williams opened fire, striking a 16-year-old male in the face.

The 16-year-old is expected to make a full recovery.

Allen Williams III, 18, of 912 Maginnis St., Donaldsonville was arrested and charged with three counts of attempted second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.

He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
