Gonzales couple arrested for obscenity, crimes against nature

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tony Bacala reports the arrest of a Gonzales couple for obscenity and crimes against nature.

In December the Sheriff’s Office received information regarding bestiality images being posted on the internet. A Cyber Investigation into the illegal behavior was conducted by the Sheriff’s Digital Forensic Investigative Division where Jonathan Small and Jessica Chaney were identified and arrested. During the course of the investigation, Small was identified as a producer and internet poster of the illegal material.

On January 7, 2015 Forensic Division Investigators executed a search warrant and arrest warrants on Small and Chaney’s home where evidence was obtained including computers and cameras.

According to Chief Bacala, Small is a former employee of the Sheriff’s Office who worked at the Ascension Parish Jail and his employment was terminated last September prior to the alleged offense.

Jonathan Lewis Small, 31, of 2320 North Amelia Avenue, Gonzales, Louisiana was arrested and charged with obscenity and crimes against nature.

Jessica Leigh Chaney, 27,of 2320 North Amelia Avenue, Gonzales, Louisiana was also arrested and charged with obscenity and crimes against nature.

Both Small and Chaney are currently incarcerated on a $5,000 bond.
