The 2014 Jambalaya Festival Association Gonzales Christmas Parade welcomed thousands to the streets on Dec. 14. The JFA wrote on Facebook after the parade that it was indeed a “huge success.”

“The board would like to thank our sponsors for their support and to the City of Gonzales Police Department and the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office for all of their dedicated help with our parade,” the post read on Facebook. “A special thanks [goes] to all in the community who celebrated with us”

Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez led the parade as the Grand Marshall, while Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus concluded the parade. Throughout though, there were many throws, and entertainment.

JFA Vice President Tammy Guillory said on Facebook they work very hard on the parade since taking it over from the Chamber of Commerce.

“This year happened to be our biggest year yet and I am very thankful to all that worked so hard to put this on and all that showed up to watch it,” Guillory said.

At the end of the parade the JFA announced the 2014 Christmas Parade winners:
