Gonzales man arrested for meth charges as a result of a traffic stop

Major Kevin Hanna with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Gonzales man on methamphetamine charges.
On Thursday, December 18, Narcotics Detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for driving recklessly at the intersection of Highway 44 and Highway 42. Narcotics Detectives identified the driver as 37-year-old Jessie James.
During the traffic stop detectives discovered that James held active warrants for issuing worthless checks. In addition, detectives searched James’ vehicle and located a quantity of methamphetamine, said Major Hanna.
Jessie James, 37, of 12198 W. Main Street, Gonzales was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, careless operation, failure to signal, and issuing worthless checks.
He was booked into the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office and his bond has been set at $20,380.
