Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Lt. Col. Bobby Webre is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect who attempted to break into a Prairieville home on November 30 while the homeowner was present.

The suspect was captured on surveillance video standing just outside of the home. The investigation revealed that the suspect cut a window screen and attempted to gain entry into the home by breaking the window.

Investigators also believe that on Monday, December 1, the same suspect was involved in a vehicle burglary at a convenient store on Perkins Road in Prairieville.  During this burglary a wallet containing an ATM card was stolen out of the unlocked vehicle. The convenient stores interior video surveillance captured the suspect entering the store and attempting to withdraw funds from an ATM machine but was unsuccessful in doing so.

The suspect is described as a 20-30 year old male with a medium build, facial hair and long dark colored hair worn in a ponytail. He may be driving a 2000-2004 light colored Ford Mustang.

Anyone with information on these two cases is urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at 225-621-INFO (4636) or by texting 847411 to our anonymous tip line from any cellular device or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP(7867).
