The National Weather Service reports another unseasonably cold night is expected tonight, Nov. 14, as cold high pressure settles over the area. The freeze warning remains in effect until 9 a.m. this morning, but another Freeze Warning in will go into effect from 10 p.m. this evening to 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 10 p.m. this evening to 9 a.m. Saturday, expecting temperature lows 25 to 30 degrees along and north of Donaldsonville to Ponchatoula to Pascagoula line. Lows 30 to 35 degrees along and north of a Houma to Des Allemands to Belle Chasse line.

The freezing temperatures could persist for six to 10 hours across areas generally along and north of a line from Donaldsonville to Ponchatoula to Pascagoula and for one to four hours south of that line.

The weather could have impacts on tender vegetation and they should be protected and animals brought inside or provided with other warm shelter.

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
