Celebrating our Veterans

The Ascension Veterans Association hosted the Veteran’s Parade in Gonzales Sunday to show respect, support and love to the local Veterans of the parish. The parade featured Veterans from wars as far back as World War II to those who currently serve the United States of America.

The Ascension Veterans Association posted a thank you on its Facebook page that read:

“Thank you to all the veterans, supporters, parade goers, parade participants and volunteers. This parade was produced 100 [percent] volunteers with big hearts and some head scratching. We know we have areas to improve upon and will reach out earlier next year to companies, schools and helpful citizens. We appreciate everyone who made the Ascension Veterans Associations veterans parade a success! We also would like to thank the (Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office), Gonzales police, Tommy Martinez [Parish President] and Barney Arceneaux [Gonzales Mayor], Sheriff Wiley with all the support -every year- including this one.”
