Gonzales PD Corporal arrested, charged with DUI

Gonzales Police Department’s Corporal Randy Clouatre Jr. was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, confirmed by the Louisiana State Police.

The incident occured on Monday, September 29, while Clouatre, Jr. was off-duty and riding in his personal vehicle.

"I am aware of the off-duty incident involving Corporal Clouatre," said Chief Jackson. "This matter has been placed under administrative investigation. We are taking quick and appropriate action based upon our off duty policy."

Louisiana State Police confirms that a Gonzales police officer has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

The officer has been identified as Corporal Randy Clouatre Jr.  Clouatre has been with the police department since 2006.  Police say it happened after Clouatre was involved in a crash early Monday evening. He was off duty at the time.

Gonzales Police Chief Sherman Jackson says this is the first time Clouatre has been in trouble.
