Donaldsonville - For the fourth year, the Ascension Parish Recreation Department, the River Road African American Museum and the Ascension Parish Breast Cancer Awareness Committee will host a week of activities acknowledging Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We don’t know how to prevent breast cancer, but there are things we can do to reduce the risk and things you can do to detect it early. Please join us for this informative and enlightening program supporting our communities’ breast cancer survivors. In past years, the Donaldsonville event raised over three thousand dollars for the American Cancer Society. Our goal for this year includes fundraising and reaching the goal of 100 participants in the Donaldsonville Breast Cancer Awareness Week activities. We invite all cancer survivors and family members of all ages to join us. Please sign up for the Donaldsonville Cancer Survivor Support Group being established by participants.
