The Play Dirty Adventures mud run/trail run race on Saturday is one of many events taking place during the two-day balloon festival on Sept. 26-27.

Play Dirty Event Director David Poleto said participants may visit http://playdirtyadventure.com/ for event information and pricing for all events.

Poleto said contestants may also get information, sign up and receive race packets on Friday, Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m.at the Play Dirty Adventures information tent located at the main entrance of Lamar-Dixon on St. Landry Road.

Runners will receive a race bib, event shirt, Tyvec wristband, and course map. Participants may also pick up a friend’s packet if they bring a copy of their friend’s ID (driver’s license, military ID, etc).

Poleto said participants will be challenged during the run with “20 wild obstacles” before crossing the finish line. There will be a 3-mile course for ages 14 and up while there will be a 1-mile Mini-Muck for kids ages 6-13.

Along with the race packet items, runners will be provided with food and refreshments and a custom finisher’s medal.

Poleto said participants age 14 and up will be challenged by the Balloon Climb, Giant Mud Pit, Cargo Net Climb, Fox Hole Pond and Tunnel Slosh to name a few. More obstacles are planned for the “balloon themed” event.

Poleto said family members are encouraged to join the kids on their Mini-Muck adventure. Each Mini-Muck entry includes one free adult participant admission to join them. Additional adults will be charged a spectator’s fee.

The 1-mile course will have a Tunnel Crawl, Cargo Net Climb, Balloon Climb and other fun and mucky activities, organizers said. No adult waves will take place at this time to allow for parents and family to participate in the Play Dirty Adventure and also share in the Play Dirty Mini Muck with their kids.
