Prairieville man arrested on drug charges

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tony Bacala reports the arrest of Donald Gaddis on drug charges.

During a narcotics investigation, detectives developed information that Gaddis was in possession of a quantity of illegal narcotics. While conducting surveillance detectives subsequently stopped Gaddis for a traffic violation. As narcotics detectives approached Gaddis’ vehicle a smell of marijuana emitted from the interior of the vehicle.  A searched of the vehicle led detectives to locating a quantity of powder and crack cocaine along with marijuana.  Gaddis attempted to flee after detectives found the items, however he was caught after a short foot chase and arrested. The street value of the drugs was approximately $700, according to Bacala.

Donald Gaddis, 32, of 15227 Joe Sevario Road, Prairieville was arrested and charged with  possession with intent to distribute Cocaine, possession of Marijuana, no headlight, no turn signal, and resisting an officer. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on September 11 where his bond was set at $21,394.
