STAFF REPORT

DOTD Project Engineer, Jeff Chatelain, announced Monday contractors will begin concrete patching operations on La. 44 in Ascension Parish, La. 42 (Burbank Drive) in East Baton Rouge Parish and La. 1248 (Bluebonnet Blvd) in East Baton Rouge Parish starting the week of August 25.

The work will consist of removing and replacing concrete and asphalt pavement at selected locations where the existing pavement has failed. The following lane restrictions will be in effect for the duration of the project:

• La. 44 (Between I-10 and La. 938) – No lane closure restrictions

• La. 42 (between La. 327 spur and La. 30) – Lane closures will only be allowed Monday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

• La. 1248 (between La. 42 and I-10) – Lane closures will only be allowed Monday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Chatelain said the work should be completed sometime in October 2014, weather permitting. A minimum of one lane will remain open in all directions at all times, but motorists should expect delays.

This project has no vehicle restrictions and no detour is necessary. Work is subject to change depending on adverse weather conditions.

“DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment,” Chatelain said.
