Ascension Parish Deputies Kaid Delaune, Seth Boudreaux, Christopher Aucoin, and Joseph Patane graduated from the Capital Area Regional Training Academy (CARTA) in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, July 8.

Capital Area Regional Training Academy (CARTA) is a product of the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office. There were 36 graduates representing 17 different agencies from across the state. The graduates learned physical training, legal and report writing skills, law enforcement history, and numerous other topics and skills.

“This graduation represents 11 weeks of hard work and resulted in all of these deputies attaining their POST certification,” said Sheriff Jeff Wiley.

Ascension deputy, Joseph Patane, was elected by his peers to be the class president. Sheriff Wiley expressed his pride in their accomplishment and challenged them to continue their formal education as they continue to serve others as an Ascension deputy.
