Parish Road Closed For Emergency Bridge Repairs

GEISMAR – Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez announced Wednesday Coco Road in Geismar has been closed to through traffic until further notice for emergency bridge repairs.

Parish bridge inspectors closed the road Wednesday after a thorough inspection revealed immediate work was necessary.

Coco Road is a single street running west off of La. 73. Coco Road is approximately a quarter mile north of the La. 73/La. 30 intersection.

For access to homes west of the Coco Road bridge, parish crews will install a temporary road connecting Coco Road and River Oaks Road. The temporary road will run along the western side of Jackie Robinson Park’s baseball field.
