The 23rd Judicial District Bar Association is pleased to announce the recipients of its annual scholarship awards.  Since 2006, the Bar Association has provided annual scholarships to qualified applicants graduating from high schools located in the Parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.  The funds for these scholarships are comprised of donations from attorneys and judges who are members of the 23rd JDC Bar Association.  This year, the Bar Association awarded a total of four scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 per student.  The two winners from Ascension Parish are Ms. Jerica Cole from East Ascension High School and Mr. Tyler Johnson from St. Amant High School.  Both of these outstanding students are graduating with honors from their respective high schools and have been heavily involved in many organizations and volunteer efforts both inside and outside of their respective schools.  Jerica plans to attend LSU and major in Biological Sciences.  Tyler plans to attend Nicholls State University and major in Kinesiology/Exercise Science.  The Bar Association is proud to invest in the future of these bright and talented graduates.
