Deputies were dispatched to 13250 Roddy Road, lot 11 in Gonzales in reference to a medical complaint. When deputies arrived on scene they were met by the couple’s 16-year-old son who led deputies to a back room in the residence and observed Orozco lying on the floor with an apparent gunshot wound to the head unresponsive. Deputies then observed Lua lying next to Orozco who also had a head wound, but was still breathing.

Deputies observed a revolver in close proximity to Lua lying on the carpet, said Lt. Col. Webre.

During the investigation detectives arrived on scene and took over the investigation and learned that the couple had been having problems according to the couple’s son.

The couple had been married for approximately 20 years. In February 2014 Orozco advised her husband she wanted a divorce and moved out of the residence to reside with a new boyfriend but later returned.

The couple’s son had left to go with friends prior to his mother’s arrival and advised his father to make sure nothing occurred during her visit. The son returned to the residence and found his parent’s lying on the floor in a back bedroom.
