He was native of New Orleans and resident of Prairieville. He passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at the age of 43. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
DeSalvo, John Anthony
He passed away at 12:50 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at the age of 59 in his home in Prairieville. He attended Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana, where he earned a bachelor's degree in music. He worked as an Inside Sales Representative for DMC Carter Chambers and fellowshipped at Bethany World Prayer Center. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Dixon, Charles Leonard "Charlie"
A resident of French Settlement, he passed away, Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at Regency Nursing Home in Baton Rouge. He was a retired computer engineer at the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, and served his country in the army during the Korean War. Burial in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
Gautreau, Marjorie "Margie"
She passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012. Margie was born August 2, 1929. She was 83. She was a native of St. Amant and a resident of Gonzales. An active member of St. Mark Catholic Church, she was a member of the Altar Society, Charismatic Group, Kaycee Auxiliary, Lenten Faith Sharing, Rosary Group, and Adult Bible Study as well as numerous others. Burial in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum in St. Amant.
Guitreau, Erdman John "Tunney"
A native of French Settlement and resident of St. Amant, he passed away on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012. He was 84 years old and a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army. Burial in Faithful United Methodist Church Cemetery in St. Amant. He was a member of Gonzales American Legion Post #81, past commander of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 45, past commander of the V.F.W. Post 3693, past sector leader of the National Order of Trench Rats Dugout 591: and Royal Colony Golden Rodent/Red Eyed Gnawer.
Landry, Nioka McKenney "Noke"
A native and resident of Donaldsonville. She died at her residence on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012. She was 46. Interment in Protestant Cemetery, Donaldsonville.
LeBlanc, Shirley Braud
She was 83 and was a native and resident of Gonzales. She passed away on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at her home. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Matherne, Raynell
He was 84, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at Harvest Manor Nursing Home. She was a resident of French Settlement. Burial in Colyell Community Cemetery conducted by the Deacon Jimmy Little.
Pieri, Charles J. "Chuck"
AA native of Houston, Texas and a resident of Gonzales, he passed away on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012. He was 74 years old, formerly worked at NASA and retired from Unisys. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and a Vietnam veteran. Visiting was held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, Nov. 24. Funeral service followed. A 12 year Army veteran, he served in the Vietnam War and traveled the world during his service. He was employed as a computer technician at NASA for Apollo 9-17, and was proud to have been a part of the space program.
Richard, Maud Landry
She was 95 years young and passed away on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012. She was a native of Labadieville and resident of Donaldsonville most of her life. Entombment to follow at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Mausoleum in Donaldsonville.
Sheffield, Ronald Erle
He was 42 and was a resident of Prairieville. He died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He received his education at Unity College, Unity, Maine (B.S.), Virginia Tech (M.S.), and North Carolina State (Ph.D.). He has been a professor in the LSU Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and LSU AgCenter since 2008. Prior to working for LSU, he worked for the Extension Service at the University of Idaho and North Carolina State University. He was active in Boy Scouting for many years, attaining his Eagle and then volunteering as an adult leader. Most recently he found his passion through the Kairos Prison Ministry in Idaho and also in Louisiana. A service was held Wednesday, Nov. 28, at University Presbyterian Church.
Stewart , Betty Palmer
She died on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at The Carpenter House. She was 80 years old, a resident of Gonzales and a native of Wilson. Interment will be in Eastern Star Cemetery, Wilson. She graduated from McKowen High School in 1949 as Valedictorian. She was a Board member of the East Feliciana Council on Aging and was Alderman for the Town of Wilson.
