CASA Volunteer Training

Currently there are 20 children in Ascension and St. James parishes that need someone in their corner. They are waiting for someone who will believe in them, who will not be judgmental and will never give up. The Court Appointed Special Advocate program of Child Advocacy Services needs volunteers to be the voices for abused and neglected children in the community. Already tossed about by life, these children in the foster care and court system may experience a dozen or more case managers and multiple separate placements. CASA Volunteers understand the need for consistency in the life of a child. CASA training for Ascension and St. James parish volunteers will begin at 6 p.m. on Oct. 2 , at the Child Advocacy Services office located 1026 E. Worthey Rd, Suite C, Gonzales. Call Krisy McAdams at (225)?647-2005 or email to kmcadams@childadv.net to sign up for the training. No special skills required, but a CASA volunteer must make a sincere commitment because the duties are extremely important. To learn more about Child Advocacy Services' CASA program visit the website at www.childadv.net. Documents are required to start the training process, so call today.
