Volunteer Ascension’s ‘School Uniform Drive’ in full swing

Celebrating its 11th year of the School Uniforms Program, Volunteer Ascension has already begun to collect recycled uniforms for distribution to Ascension Parish students in need (K-8th grades).
From now until the end of July, drop off your clean, repaired, gently worn uniforms at the following locations during normal business hours: Dutch’s Cleaners, LeJeune’s Cleaners, Sac’s Western Store, Uniform Post, Salvation Army, St. Anne and St. Anthony’s Catholic Churches, Regions Bank-Gonzales, Whitney Bank (Airline at Churchpoint), and Kean’s the Cleaners (Prairieville and Gonzales).
Due to the increase in need, your donation to purchase new uniforms can help more than ever. Send your donations to: Volunteer Ascension School Uniform Program, P.O. School Uniform Distribution will take place at Central Middle School on Roddy Road, July 31, from 9-5, and Aug. 1, from 9 a.m.-noon.
Volunteer Ascension, where Volunteers are Changing Lives, is a local not-for-profit service organization that strives to positively impact the needs of Ascension Parish by promoting and developing volunteerism. Through its volunteer based programs such as Community Services, ConnecTeens, Make A Difference Day, School Tools and School Uniforms, the organization provides nearly $500,000 in services and supplies to those in need in Ascension Parish.
