American Legion Veterans Appreciation Breakfast set for Saturday

Once again, the American Legion, Gautreau/Williams Post 81 is hosting a breakfast for all local veterans and their families.

The breakfast will be held on Saturday, June 30, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Breakfast will be served at the Post 81 home on City Park Street in Gonzales (behind the new Police Station).

“This breakfast is about veterans helping veterans and all veterans and their families are invited to attend,” said a local legion spokesperson. “Come by and see what the American Legion is all about.”

If you or someone you know who is a veteran and is interested in becoming a member of the Legion, bring a copy of your DD- 214.

“Ascension Parish has approximately 6,000 veterans; however, a mere 15% has joined a veteran's service organization,” added the spokesperson.

“Are you one of these veterans? If not, it is time for you to Join one of our organizations. Join the American Legion, the world's largest veteran's organizations.”
