WEEKEND FORECAST ... Mild start, hotter by Sunday

The first day of June brings milder temperatures and lower humidity, but the heat will return soon enough.

Highs will only reach the mid to upper 80s Friday, on the heels of a cool front that pushed through the area Thursday. Overnight lows will drop into the mid 60s.

Expect an afternoon thundershower. Rain chance is 40 percent today.

Warmer temperatures and more humidity inch back into the weather picture over the course of the weekend. Highs Saturday will climb above 90, with a 50 percent chance of showers.

Sunday's forercast calls for highs in the mid 90s, and a 40 percent chance of rain.
