Vessel announces candidacy for Gonzales City Council Division C seat

Tim Vessel, a Gonzales small business entrepreneur, has announced his candidacy for a City of Gonzales Council Division C seat.

Vessel has worked in a number of industries including rental services for housing, cross-country trucking and freight, roofing, cement finishing, scrap metal recycling, bush hogging, back hoe work, and demolition.

Vessel has worked for the City of Gonzales for 15 years in the following departments: Parks and Recreation, Beautification, Animal Control, Drainage, Street and Utilities, and worked for the Ascension Parish Police Juror for two and one half years. Vessel has also been employed as a school bus driver for the Ascension Parish School Board for five years.

Vessel is a 1985 graduate of East Ascension High School and attended the Louisiana State University Veterinary Program for four years.

While at East Ascension, Vessel was an enlisted member of the U.S. National Guard.

Vessel is a parishioner at Second Mount Olive Baptist Church in Donaldsonville where he serves as senior usher under Pastor Dr. James N. Dorsey. He is also President of the Junior Usher Board and serves on the Pastor Aide Committee.

Vessel is married to wife Lequatta, and they have five children, Tanya (27), Timothy Jr. (26), Tremelle (21), Teshawon (20), and Tamera (18).

While looking to the future of Gonzales, Vessel would like to concentrate on financial responsibility, transportation, public safety, eduction, economic development, recreation/quality of life concerns, beautification, a greener Gonzales, and increasing employment opportunities for all local citizens.
