Former LSU Player arrested in parish on simple rape count

Ascension Parish Chief Deputy Tony Bacala reports the arrest of a Prairieville man for simple rape.

At 4:01 a.m. on November 13, 2011, Sheriff's Office Patrolmen were dispatched to 36604 Plantation Court Boulevard in Prairieville in reference to a disturbance. During the course of the investigation authorities learned that disturbance was a result of an eighteen year old alleging she was raped by Charles Edward Scott, Jr.

After a continuous investigation by detectives a warrant for the arrest of Charles E. Scott, Jr. 23, of 36604 Plantation Court Boulevard in Prairieville, Louisiana, charging him with simple rape was obtained at 12:26 p.m.  Scott, who had been detained during the course of the investigation, was then arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish jail. Bond has not yet been set.
