Donaldsonville man dies in shooting
Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley reports a late night shooting in Donaldsonville that resulted in the death of 38 year old Phillip Allen.
Shortly before midnight Ascension Parish authorities responded to 305 W. 4th Street, Apartment 3, after receiving reports of shots fired. A preliminary investigation revealed that the perpetrator was standing outside of Allen’s apartment and shot through a window into his living room striking him multiple times which subsequently led to his death, Wiley said. Witnesses observed the perpetrator run from the scene immediately following the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives are following up on a number of leads. No arrests have been made at this time.
