Nationwide Emergency Alert System Test today

Early this afternoon, a number of television and radio stations will be taking part in a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System.

The alert is in conjunction with the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The test is expected to take place at 1 p.m., and wil last for one minute.
