ASCENSION’S WEEEKEND WEATHER: Cool temperatures for red-hot football
Cool temperatures and clear skies will prevail for a sizzling weekend of football action.
Clear skies return Friday with a high reaching 63. Temperatures will be in the mid 50s for the 7 p.m. kickoff of regular season finales pitting East Ascension against St. Amant at The Pit, and Dutchtown’s contest against visiting Catholic-Baton Rouge. The mercury will drop into the 40s by game’s end.
The highs will approach 70 Saturday under sunny skies. For those traveling to Tuscaloosa for the LSU-Alabama showdown, expect daytime highs in the lower 70s under sunny skies. Temperatures will dip into the low 60s for the 7:11 p.m. kickoff, and into the 50s by game’s end.
Highs will be in the 70s Saturday in Houston for Southern’s trip to Texas Southern. Kickoff temperatures will be in the upper 60s, dropping into the 50s by the end of the evening.
Sunday temperatures in Iberville Parish return to the upper 70s under partly cloudy skies. Lows will drop into the mid 50s.
For the return to work Monday, skies will be clear with a daytime high in the upper 70s. Lows will be in the lower 60s.
A 30 percent chance of rain enters the forecast Tuesday, with a high near 80.
