There's an "Outing at the Outlet"

Local police and firefighters will soon heading to Tanger Mall, but don't be alarmed, as it's all in the name of community service.

The Gonzales Police Department Fraternal Order of Police will be hosting "Outing at the Outlet," a chance for the public to learn more about the importance of safety. The department believes that with the support of all members of our community, safety can become a priority for all.

On Sunday, November 20, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., divisions of the Gonzales Police Department, including the Gonzales City Police Patrol Division, SORT Team, Motors Division, DWI Enforcement, and the GPD Explorers will join with the Gonzales Fire Department at Tanger Mall to showcase exactly what skills they have learned to provide us all with proper safety in the area. Visitors to the event can watch and learn a variety of techniques from finger painting to witnessing the Motor Division as they master obstacle courses. There will also be child safety seat checks, SORT demonstrations, and you can even experience the effects of alcohol impairment.

Food and drink will be offered, and there's face painting for the kids. So bring the family out to Tanger Mall and witness firsthand the skills used by the Gonzales Police Department and the Gonzales Fire Department, as they work to put the safety of all of us first.
