Gonzales Police make arrest of wanted fugitive

On October 05, 2011 at approximately 1200hrs, Gonzales Officers were dispatched to 1216 Coontrap road (Palms Apartments) in reference to a reported Armed Robbery and shooting.

Officers arrived at Apt #40 and found the owner later identified as Vincent Chapman, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Chapman informed investigators that he had been shot by an unknown black male that was accompanied by Antonio Coleman after they had barged their way into his apartment and demanded money from him. Chapman told investigators that after he was shot by the unknown male, they ( the suspects) then fled from the scene.

Through investigative efforts, the two parties responsible for the shooting have been identified and one arrested.

Antonio Coleman, 1220 Willow Street, Gonzales,  is currently incarcerated and being held at APSO Parish Prison awaiting a bond determination on the charges of : Principal to attempted first degree homicide, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Burglary and Felon in possession of a firearm.

All attempts have been unsuccessful in locating the suspected gun man whom has been identified as Tony Darnell Williams.

Williams also faces the same charges as Antonio Coleman.

The condition of Vincent Chapman is still critical and he is currently being tended to at an ICU at a local hospital.

Tony Darnell Williams has an unknown address believed to be in BTR area. He is a black male born on August 2, 1974.
