Ascension Parish teams Dutchtown and Donaldsonville to meet in week two

Donaldsonville will visit Dutcthtown Friday night in the second week of local high school football action.

Donaldsonville, of Class 3A, will look to bounce back from a loss to Assumption in the opening week. The Tigers will have a tall order as they take the field in Geismar against their Ascension Parish counterparts - Dutchtown ranks second in the state in Class 5A. The Griffins are fresh off of a win over Lutcher.

Meanwhile, East Ascension will host Sarah Reed of Class 3A. The Spartans opened the season with a shutout against Tara.

St. Amant looks to bounce back from a loss to Warren Easton in the opener. The Gators of Class 5A will welcome Miller-McCoy of Class 3A.

Ascension Christian, a District 9-1A team, will host University of Class 2A. The Lions are hoping to bounce back from a loss to Southern Lab.

Ascension Catholic, also of District 9-1A, fell to Hanson in week one. The Bulldogs will host Episcopal of Class 2A in Donaldsonville.
