LSU tops Oregon, 40-27

LSU's Michael Ford tries to turn the corner.

LSU opened the season with a 40-27 win over Oregon Saturday night at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Spencer Ware and Michael Ford ran for a combined 195 yards to pace LSU. Ford scored two touchdowns, while Ware added one.

Jarrett Lee threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Rueben Randle. Lee finished 10-of-22 passing for 98 yards and a touchdown.

Tyrann Mathieu forced a fumble and returned it for a touchdown on a punt return.

Former Dutchtown standout Eric Reid recovered a fumble forced by Sam Montgomery, which led to an LSU score.
