Dutchtown came out with an impressive performance over non-district foe Lutcher in the New Orleans Saints/LHSAA Game of the Week, which was televised by Cox Sports Television.

Through non-stop rain, the Griffins took a 17-0 lead in the first half and never trailed as they claimed a 32-8 win in the season opener.

Dutchtown quarterback Mason Nickens opened the scoring with a touchdown run.

Landon Collins intercepted a pass and returned it to the 8-yard line around the left side. He then scored on the next play from the running back position.

Tyler Sarrazin kicked a 26-yard field goal to give the Griffins a 17-0 advantage late in the second quarter.

Daniel Taylor pulled the visiting Bulldogs back into the game when he scored on fourth down from the 2-yard line in the third. He also added a two-point conversion run.

Collins struck again on a third-and-7 play. He broke free on a carry and scampered 62 yards down the left side for a touchdown with 6:02 left in the third.

Dutchtown carried a 24-8 lead into the final quarter.

Nickens kept on a run up the middle for the last touchdown. He converted a third-and-4 on the play with 7:29 remaining. Zack Hill carried up the middle for the two-point conversion.
