Travis Turner

Travis Turner of Geismar plans to run for the Ascension Parish District 3 Counsel position.  In a statement of candidacy, Turner said he is running to bring to the position someone who will be accessible to the people of Ascension Parish and listen to their concerns to improve their overall quality of life.

“We need to improve drainage and sewage in District 3 and we also need to make improvements to roads in the District which have become overcrowded due to new growth in the parish.  I intend to work together with all members of the council to make Ascension Parish better for all of its residents, “Turner stated.

Turner is very involved with the youth in Ascension Parish. He presently serves as president of the Ascension Jaguars Youth Basketball Organization.

An Ascension Parish resident since 1979, Turner graduated from East Ascension High School in 1997 and Louisiana State University in 2001 with a B.S. in Sociology.  Turner received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Southern University Law Center in 2004.

Turner worked at the Dumas Law Firm in Baton Rouge from 2001 until 2011 when he opened the Turner Law Firm in Gonzales.

Turner is married to Keyojuan G. Turner, a practicing attorney in the Ascension area.  They have three children, Kameron, Tristan, and Tori.  They attend Word of Life Christian Center in Darrow.
