Gauthier &?Amedee wins second straight American Legion state title

Ascension Parish-based Gauthier &?Amedee won its second straight American Legion State Tournament championship last week in Chalmette. Rain delays and changes of venue did not stop Gauthier & Amedee from claiming its second straight American Legion State Tournament championship last week.

The Ascension Parish-based team defeated Jesuit-based Retif Oil, 5-3, to take the title Thursday at Chalmette High School.

Gauthier &?Amedee blasted Retif Oil 7-1 just a day earlier.

Gauthier &?Amedee moves on to the Mid South Regional, set for Aug. 4-8 at Griffith Stadium in Minden.
