Sheriff announces scholarship recipients

Sheriff Wiley announced three graduates from Ascension have received cash scholarships from the Louisiana Sheriff’s Scholarship Program.

Matthew Drago from?St. Amant High School received $1000, Kimberly Koehl from Dutchtown High School received $500, and  Sami Marchand from St.?Amant High School received $500.

The awards are made possible by the Louisiana Sheriff’s Honorary Membership Program.

Louisiana Sheriff’s provide scholarships to graduating seniors from each parish where the sheriff is an affiliate of the program.

Sheriff Wiley said, “Academic awards by the Louisiana Sheriff’s Scholarship Program to students best demonstrate what the LSHMP is all about. This is one of our proudest accomplishments.  It is a means of investing in Louisiana’s future. This would not be possible without the generosity of Ascension Parish Honorary members.
