St. Amant Fire Department recognizes outstanding member

St. Amant Volunteer Fire Chief James E. LeBlanc and Assistant Chief Shane Pourciau are seen presenting Thad Bellows with his plaque. Bellows has been a member of the St.?Amant Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, serving in many different roles.

The St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department took time out at their recent membership meeting to recognize long outstanding member Thad Bellows.

Bellows, a 25-year veteran of the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department, has served as Captain, Jr. Firefighter Advisor, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and President while being an active member of the department.

“This fire department and community is so blessed to have the dedication and loyalty that Thad continues to give,” stated Chief Officer James E. LeBlanc.

The St.?Amant Volunteer Fire Department is an active department serving the St.?Amant community.

The department has 45 on-call firefighters and emergency medical technicians, and answers approximately 22 calls monthly.

They are involved in numerous fundraising activities, namely St.?Amant for St. Jude and the distribution of Thanksgiving baskets to needy families in the area.

Their motto is “Our Family Helping Your Family.”
